I'm a pastor's wife and have been involved in church my entire life. Church can be a weird thing. Church people have their own language. Their own culture. For a lifelong Churchian like me, the line between church culture and following Jesus tends to blur. Over the last few years I've started to realize that many of the things I've learned in church aren't necessarily...true. I've realized that many of the things that I've considered Very Important...are not. As I worked on separating the expectations of church from the expectations of Jesus, I said more than once that I felt like I needed a 12-step program to reprogram my thinking.
